Today I took Seb up to the children's hospital for his first physiotherapy appointment.
We were quite early so Nat went on the rocking horse in reception. The the boys played with the mega connect four and the airhockey table.
Finally Seb saw his Physiotherapist Stacey. She spent a long time examining his knees and checking what he can and can't do. He has been given three sets of exercises to try and strengthen the muscles around his knee in the hope that it might help hold his knee cap in a better postition. So that is both of us know having to do reps of various exercises every day.
After the hospital we drove straight over to Ringmer to Raystede the Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation centre and Bird Sanctuary.
Seb was booked onto an animal carers day for 13-17 year olds with five other teenages.
He started off with the cattery where the six carers were given the task of helping the cats with socialisation.
Meanwhile Nat and I were in the park playing on the wooden tractor (well he was!)
After the cattery Seb and his group went to feed the guinea pigs.
Nat and I went for a walk around the vast fields to see all the lovely ponies, minature ponies, donkeys and horses. I heard that Raystede had had a break-in the previous night. Not sure whether anything was taken but I did learn that somone had plaited the manes of a couple of ponies which they think was a sign to someone else to indicate which ponies to steal.
Nat and I then went around the bird sanctuary to feed the ducks and to collect lots of feathers.
We stopped for lunch and an ice-cream and saw Seb and his friends as they went back to the Den for their lunch.
I popped into the Raystede charity shop for a couple of thrift purchases.
I was really pleased with a pink skirt for £2 and a pink top for £3
and a white blouse for £2.
I also got a yellow blouse for £1.50 and a denim bag for £2.
We then went back to the ponies and saw Seb undertaking his next activity of taking the ponies for a walk to a field where they could graze among the mint and other plants.
After the ponies Seb headed over to the kennels, while Nat and I wandered through the cat rescue centre to see the rescued cats and kittens. We met up with Seb as he was taking his dog Archie for a long walk.
While Nat and I went around the Aviary to see the parrots, and ferretts Seb was in the dog training area assessing what tricks the dog could do and marking how well the dog interacted with him.
Seb then went to the Tortoise pen to help gather in all the tortoises to give them a bath.
Nat and I went to the small animal sanctuary and looked at the hamsters, gerbils, chincillas and other small creatures. We time it well as one of the staff was just feeding them so Nat watched fascinated as the little animals came out to eat their dinner.
One more trip back to the wooden tractor before we met up with Seb to come home.
I could tell that Nat was getting tired when he dragged himself up onto the trailer at the back of the tractor and just lay on his tummy.
Nat was asleep in the car within five minutes.
A really lovely day out. Just sitting now enjoying snuggles with my little boy who is squeaky clean from a splish splash in the bath. Mmmmm love the smell of clean little ones and talcum powder.
