A calculator some sand, a lamp and a laptop

Not much to report today.  This morning as I was about to leave for work Seb announced that he needed a scientific calculator for a maths test tomorrow.  Kids, don't-cha just love 'em?  Work was busy today, I was supposed to be a meeting at 2pm with my boss and most of my department only I lost track of time and forgot to go to it.  Then at 3pm I went to another meeting which my Boss had asked me to attend so I could take note of any questions that were raised. The meeting was supposed to last an hour but over ran by 45 minutes.  Not only that but half way through I suddenly remembered why I was there and that I had failed to note down a single question that had been raised.  I spent the rest of the meeting desperately trying to recall what had been discussed and scribbling down some notes. I am not usually so incompetent but I am an all or nothing girl.  You get the best of me or the worst of me and not much in-between.

As the meeting over-ran I was late to pick up my son from his tennis lesson.  A pleading call to my dad resolved that problem as he kindly agreed to go and collect Seb for me which was just as well as the traffic was awful getting home.

Feeling quite tired this evening.  Nat has been a bit of a handful.  We played nicely together for an hour or more exhausting every one of his favourite toys including his wooden train track his button boards, his animals, his duplo and his cars.  He then went in the garden with David, threw some things in the pond, chucked his spade over the wall and ate some sand.  Bless him.  He is a gift (as I keep telling my husband!)

Anyway three highlights of note today:

1.  My mum spotted a nice lamp in a second hand shop and bought it for us

2.  My Dad had taken my laptop into to be fixed after Nat spilled a full glass of wine over the keyboard and some of the keys had stopped working. They have fixed it and didn't even charge us anything!  It is fantastic to have it back again.

3.  My Dad called this evening to say that as he was clearing out his old office equipment and he  came accross a scientific calculator.  He reckons it is at least 20 years old but still seems to be functioning.

Sometimes you just know that God is smiling down on you!
