Memorable Parties

You know you have got blogging down to a fine art form when you can actually get people you know to write your blog for you.  Well I woke this morning to a lovely email from my best friend George.  I loved what she had written so much that I begged her to allow me to share it in my blog.  We certainly have had some good times and this brought back many happy memories some of which I had completely forgotten about. Oh yeah my real name is Luella and my other nicknames include Lu, Lou and Welly / Wella.

"Lou - I have been reading your blog, I love it-it's like being with you and I love that you

write like you talk. Like the desperate housewife thing! You should have also
mentioned you are like Monica from friends! I was thinking about some of the
parties we have been to the other day. This is my blog to you- mine would be
called:-

DULCE ET DECORUM EST!

(Memorable parties)

That time of year again when my lovely friend utters the words, "you're good with
kids" and I know that soon I will be dressed as a red Indian or pumpkin! I made
myself sick at Sebatians first birthday party from eating al of the balls from the ball
pool cake Luella made! Then there was the masked ball, for Luellas 30th, Davids
40th with a whole weekend of sports with hand made medals and a timetable of
events. At each party the attention to detail was incredible- colour co-ordinated,
home made cake with decorations that I could only ever dream of making. The New
Years eve parties with stupid games, particually the one where we had to sit back to
back and guess the word the other one was holding-we got 45 words on 1 minute
because we know what each other thinks so well. Then there were the parties we
were invited to. Christmas at the big house, that was always a good one, with the
oak panelling and the live music and gorgeous food. Kathys 50th black and white
party, she looked stunning in her red dress although it was slightly overshadowed
by my father death a few days before. The James bond party with the sexy dresses,
Debbies beautiful wedding party in her garden.and Luellas parents parties, one
which we worked at as waitresses- I've never done so much washing up in my life!
So many I could mention and more to come in the next few weeks.

If we're entirely honest the party we have always wanted to be invited to happened
in the early 1800's and involved long white dresses, formal dancing, curled hair
and Mr Darcy...we can still dream!"

Thank you George - you always make me smile - Love you loads!!
